Excellent opportunities, for a price

Pros

Unquestionably an industry leader. Access to top expertise, internal and external. Long and proven track record with customers, contractors, consultants, and suppliers has yielded great trust.

Cons

Leadership seems to care more about forcing employees to return to office than it does about attracting and retaining top talent. Ample opportunities for burnout. (Some teams are fine, some are awful.) Veering toward bureaucracy in an effort to scale - feels decreasingly open to the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit that was once a central cultural value. Seems like with every new enterprise software license we sign up for, we squeeze out a little more room for creativity at the ground floor. These days, one person might get rewarded for mindlessly maintaining a bunch of business systems that don't actually work (but are a focus of executive attention), while someone else who is keeping the wheels on the bus gets ignored.

Pros

Great place to learn about the industry. Educated colleagues. Good Bonus…when I started. Will be given things above your pay grade, allowing opportunity.

Cons

Other renewable companies hire while Invenergy fires during this terrible pandemic in a very chaotic and haphazard way. Perplexing, as renewable energy is doing very well overall. Was very disappointed in how it was handled. Upper mgmt. is dishonest, greedy, and even immoral.

Pros

Time Off, Office Location, some very intelligent colleagues

Cons

Toxic work culture. If you are not part of the in-group you should not expect to last long here. It's not unusual for there to be a mass firing or layoff for people who are not popular with higher-ups, even if they are very good at their jobs. This is disruptive and instills a culture of fear and mistrust. Pay is significantly lower than competitors and it will take forever for you to get promoted, as there are so many tiers. You might be a Senior Analyst but you will be doing the work of a Manager for $20,000 less per year.
