Some really great coworkers Mission helping people's lives

Cons

No diversity in engineering No career growth, 'flat' org No work life balance, praised for working till 1am and weekends No useful performance reviews: you just rate everyone above or below each other in for 'skills' and 'teamwork'. When you work with product, engineers, designers, how do you compare 'skills'? And how does this actually tell you how you are doing? Managers are just looking out for their own optics and not investing in their employees

Pros

Company has excellent software and biotechnology products that span the genetics testing space, and group of highly competent ICs who work very hard.

Cons

Leadership is a disaster. The cultural tenants are just posters on the wall. Company has grown very fast with no solid integration planning, and instead of coming up with plans to fix duplicated projects and initiatives between branches, they allowed them to all run for almost a year, then fired ICs when they had to cancel the projects. Most, if not all, the managers who failed to do any preventative kept their jobs.

Pros

The mission is definitely a plus, you are working in healthcare so actively improving people lives. Most roles come with lots of autonomy and little micromanagement. No one is ever really held accountable.

Cons

No one is ever really held accountable. The company is extremely disorganized with everyone feeling stretched thin and no clear priorities. The culture as described is wonderful but the actions fall short, this large gap engenders a lack of trust and creates a toxic working environment.
