Pros

There's a real sense of community at Ivy. The heads of the departments care about the faculty as well as the students. I would often say to the head of my department that it was the most supportive environment I'd ever encountered.

Cons

Adjunct pay isn't great, but you can teach several classes each quarter.

Great atmosphere. My input was always valued and I felt like part of the team from day 1. Professional development was offered and they care about everyone. Great work life balance

Pay wasn't great but benefits and overall workplace environment made up for it

Excellent opportunity to break into teaching and build a portfolio! Tons of opportunities for professional development (teaching, course design, faculty growth, etc)

Cons

The pay does not transalte well with your teaching responsibilities (that seems pretty common for all adjuncts across the board). So, if you are looking for supplemental income while doing something you desire (teaching) then go for it! But, if you are looking for income that can help you pay the bills (that is not the job for you)--you need to have a full-time elsewhere if you want an adjunct position.
