Time-tracking, no perks, shady

Pros

Some of my teammates were very hard-working and kind.

Cons

Izenda has been around since 2002 and is still a messy startup. They have no dedicated HR person, which is reflective of how little the company values its employees. While other companies give out perks like snacks and flex hours, Izenda offers nothing, and, in addition, requires all employees across departments to record their work hours using a time tracking software. The company's hiring practices are shady - The support team is partly made up of bright people who were hired as developers but are tricked into answering tickets and dealing with people's day-to-day issues. My own title was changed arbitrarily two months into my time at Izenda, and I was never told why. Organizationally, there is no growth path in place and, upon asking around, I found that advancement within the company is rare. I was not compensated appropriately for my workload. Even when it suddenly literally doubled due to the firing of one of my teammates, no pay increase was mentioned and when I tried to discuss it I was simply told that I "would be fine." As part of the support structure at Izenda, my inability to help my customers succeed with the product (due to blocking issue after blocking issue) weighed on my morale and I became burnt out, as did my colleagues. Ultimately, my hard work was not appreciated in any meaningful way and I left the company feeling like management had tried to pull the wool over my eyes.

Thank you for the note. Time-tracking was to streamline client-relations and make billing/invoicing for hours spent easier to do. Also, it makes it easier to provide clients with visibility into the amount of time we spend on a task. I'm sorry you did not think we had any "perks", but we are a small business and the average employee has been with the business for 5.5 years - pretty outstanding. We have a dedicated Human Capital team member and we implemented Small Improvements (a tool for developing and rewarding staff and keeping everyone on the same page) in the beginning of 2019. We wish you the best Pat!

Pros

nothing except the India team who tries to make things bearable but fails as everything is top down from US

Cons

terrible work environment, no appraisals, run by unprofessional people from US, both founders are egoistic and disrespectful toward staff, racist towards Indians, not a company to work with for long term, no growth,. DO NOT make long term careers plans with this company as most can't
