      JB Hunt no longer a good place for IT jobs

      Pros

      JBH is a strong company and will probably be around for years to come. Work life balance is ok to good and a couple of the IT managers are good people with good ethics and morals.

      Cons

      Senior management focuses on what benefits them, not necessarily the company. This lack of leadership and ethical standards has fostered a layer of managers that would not last long in a normal workplace. Some of the sharpest technical people have left the company for the sole reason of poor management.

      Pros

      Open to new technology and business idea's. Shares information about the business with non core areas. C-Suit members are very easy to approach. Good place to intern.

      Cons

      Limited vertical mobility. Openings are generally filled from the outside and are not offered to internal candidates. People are seen as expenses rather than assets. Very low level of job satisfaction in general. VP level takes pride in "running thin" to make budget look good but causes a high level of burnout.
