Pros
The Investment Professional position is a great entry-level position. It is a decent learning opportunity, but after a year, it becomes very monotonous, there are limited (almost nonexistent) upside growth opportunities, and there is no economic incentive to stay around long. The tenure is about one year on average before the IP jumps ship. Learning, networking, getting FINRA Licences, work-life balance (team dependant)
Cons
The Investment Professional position is comparable to an associate role within the PB. Unfortunately, IPs only get paid a fraction compared to fellow associates, and there are no upside incentives for IPs. The workload could get very burdensome at times, and in the end, there is little economic recognition, while associates bank a good percentage. Low pay compared to similar workloads, no career advancement, work-life balance (team dependant)
