Don't believe the headlines

Pros

Good resources in developing your own career brand.

Cons

Behind the headlines, this place is a train wreck. Compensation is flat or falling unless you are an executive. Top performers have capped compensation below market with little to no upward mobility. HR system is on par with the DMV. I'd be embarrassed if my network saw what I put up with just to have the LinkedIn cred.

Pros

It took years but I finally have a great work life balance. It depends on your role expectations, team dynamic and definitely appetite of your manager in terms what type of flexibility you can get. Established roles which limit the unknown - when interviewing if you ask about role expectations and specifics, you should get a clear answer. Not much is undefined. Great opportunities to continue your education and upskill yourself for the future - endless really. Tuition assistance is wonderful Lots of Business Resource Groups to get involved in - supporting Women, Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, those with Disabilities etc. Plenty of networking opportunities - internal mobility is looked highly upon and many take advantage.

Cons

Benefits are very expensive which is surprising for such a large company Depending on the team - cultures vary greatly and you may come across very uncollaborative colleagues People are overworked so tend to have negative attitudes at times - but they are great people Do more with Less has been a constant over my tenure. Hard to hire good people due to low compensation - hard to retain for same reason. CEO has a broad brush negative attitude towards the concept of remote workers and their productivity which is out of touch. Will be difficult to find any remote opportunities.
