A sea of cubicles.

Pros

JPMorgan will be one of the best names you can put on your resume to launch your career and they compensate on average.

Cons

Unfortunately, the work life is quite mundane and the sea of cubicles can really be depressing at times. With such a large company of course there is a bureaucratic system.

Pros

- Horizontal mobility - Safety of a large organization - Strong CEO, good brand

Cons

- Life can be miserable if your immediate boss is crappy - Year-end comp is so so - Work/life balance very difficult if you want to make good money

Pros

Strong, solid reputation; pay for performance; work life balance is followed but highly dependent on immediate manager

Cons

- Too many acquisitions create sense of fiefdoms in various areas - Information sharing is limited as people are understandably fearful of losing jobs - Some things are incredibly bureuacratic and seem to be so for no apparent reason; people make things that should be simple unnecessarily complex.
