Pros

its overshadowed by too many negatives

Cons

If you are an employee and reading this, you are here because you are not happy and looking to see what others have said about JAS If you are a top executive at the company and a decision maker and seeing this, I suggest making some changes after reading this. And if you are new and searching to see if this is a good company to join. All I can tell you is that I ignored the warnings and the reviews when I was in your position and accepted the job. Now I see that the comments were all spot on. So think twice. Many of the positive reviews are written by fake owners (one liner, no content) trying to keep the rating up. All the high levels positions are filled by Europeans as they cannot trust local executives. And when you ask, the answer will be because we are a European company (BS). USA division consists of some of the worst people in the industry, dinosaurs. Managers are amongst the least skilled and qualified and the only reason they got that position is because of their tenure and not because they actually qualified. Most of the managers lead by fear and lack leadership skills, yet they are put into a position to lead. And employees that are skilled and have the right attitude are not recognized and/or maybe don’t want to be part of these teams and the environment. What’s wrong with this picture? How can you not see this? I know, because the people on top are the issue, dinosaurs! HR has hundreds of cases of verbal and physical abuse, discrimination, harassment, but is pushing those to the side and those employees are still working at the organization because of the toxic culture from HR all the way to managers and CEO. HR is a big problem from top to bottom and needs to be reported. The issue I see is high-level management. They have been with the company for too long, they are stubborn, set in their ways and don’t like change, dinosaurs! Anyone that is questioning them will not last too long. They have their own inner circle and do whatever they want. Whoever is reading this, I am very sorry to be honest. Truth hurts and my hope is that the toxic culture of this company changes soon. Ok, and why am I here still, you would ask? I am a bit older and isn’t easy to change jobs, and I am still hopeful that things are going to change, but I’ve got to tell you that its hard to stay motivated and getting up every day and going to work for this company. The day I see things have changed for the better, I will delete this review even if I am no longer working here.

Pros

Coworkers are nice, if you have no freight forwarding experience it is a good place to learn. Paid overtime

Cons

Consistent 60 hour work weeks on ocean export, warehouse and import. Cannot come through with what is promised. Does not allow managers to manage or empower them to get the job done. Strongly biased, much of leadership Europeans with large egos. Poor bonuses for salaried employees that work 60 hours plus per week. Poor decisions on new location/ office and warehouse space ran out in a year.
