They build a lot of different types of work. Have the job security of a large company. Is a great place to work if you are in the Kansas City office. Outside of the KC bubble it can be hit or miss. It really depends on the local office leader.

Cons

Upper and middle management have become disconnected from what the company actually does. They are so tied up in the numbers that they forget there are actually people building awesome things right outside their window. All they care about is profit, fee enhancement, safety metrics, fee erosion, insurance profit, etc. Plus, the company is so top heavy. Everybody is a GM or "Senior" this or VP of that. No wonder the PE's, PM and Supt.'s have to work so hard they are outnumbered 2-1. But it is construction, if you wanted 40hrs per week, find a different carreer.
