Pros

flexibility with hours and locations, coworkers who become like family, benefits, recgonition in other ways besides cash, team environment, creation of upper management positions to support me

Cons

low salary, management made no move to keep me when I threatened to leave for another bank, did not make me feel needed or irreplacable, not much formal training, manager who "talks down" and doesn't do much encouraging

Pros

The benefits are among the best around. Four Weeks vacation, 10 paid holidays, plus sick time, and paternity leave are almost unheard of elsewhere in the area. Health Care is expensive but it covers a lot.

Cons

Diversity hiring and promoting actually promotes discrimination in majority groups. Few opportunities exist unless you give your soul to the company and are willing to relocate to one of their main locations, i.e. Chicago, New York, Tampa, or Houston. Bureaucracy seems to trump almost anything else at JPMC. So many layers of of rules and approvals are required for simple business processes that it often feels like I am being smothered and discouraged from being creative. Customer Satisfaction suffers at the requirements of process. Communication between different departments lacks and management doesn't quite "get it" that we aren't making people happy.

Pros

Large company. Cool commercials. Lots of offices. Well known. Many different types of departments and areas. Match 401k up to 5%! Subsidizes health insurance, but the plan choices are not very good.

Cons

Average benefits. Cost cutting. Hard to advance. Hard to use job listing/search. Constant layoffs. Poor job security used as an excuse to overload workers. Could be better from a legal/compliance standpoint.
