Pros

Reasonable salaries for the industry Plenty of opportunities to travel If you have to earn money working in this sort of way, there are worse companies to work for

Cons

Very 'American' in style (will close and move offices at the drop of a hat) 'Safety is our number one priority' is something they wish to be the case, but only if it doesn't compromise profits too much. There are plenty of safety initiatives, but they are principally aimed at ticking boxes and giving the right perception. You are at their beck and call. Travel is expected, regardless of its effects on one's personal and family life. 'People are our greatest asset' is a 'core value' - and it is true (in fact people are pretty much their only asset), but you wouldn't think it to be the case by how people are treated. 'Growth is an imperative' is another core value. Why? A better description of cancer is hard to find. Office environment (at Winnersh) is stuffy (too warm and not enough fresh air) and impersonal. Also becoming very PC - there's less and less room for individuality. All very serious - not many smiles or laughs when I was there.

Pros

Good work-life relationship within the work environment is present due to the local area (NASA). Jacobs Technology is based inside the Ames Research Facility making the work culture relaxed and stress-free compared to many comparable jobs within the same area.

Cons

There isn't much movement within the company for growth, although gaining knowledge is essential and acknowledged within the local area of work.
