Pros

Pay compensation is fairly high, but often requires extensive travel to other Jacobs offices due to location of project.

Cons

Jacobs is a low overhead company, so layoffs are quick if the workload drops. Performance reviews are very infrequent. Advancement often based on good old boy network

Pros

Some great projects, good reputation in the industry. Also some good people work there. Many offices to choose from, including international.

Cons

People treated like assets (i.e. this asset is too expensive, cheaper to replace with a younger, hungrier one). All decisions are based on "business", not loyalty, work ethic, commitment, etc. Huge emphasis on cost, goes cheap on everything. No training budget. No marketing (we're a "relationship" based company). Horrible IT systems and support.
