Pros

connected to NASA and loved working with the NASA employees

Cons

Management was not very knowledgeable about things and they always seemed to keep their employees in the dark. Too many unknown layoffs.

Pros

There were no pros for this company.

Cons

They acquired us and proceeded to destroy the Tucson office (Mining & Minerals) as many of the engineers who had worked for them before predicted and they were not happy to be working for Jacobs again. As an admin assistant I was treated like a disposable commodity and within two years the staff went from about 150 down to 60. The mining companies in the area (FreeportMcmaran, etc.) did not want to work with Jacobs so they were not able to get any new projects. The medical benefits were terrible. Overtime became mandatory so forget work/life balance. It was dismal.

Pros

Flex time, 4-10 work schedule, filtered hot/cold water in every breakroom, oftentimes weekly discipline lunch-and-learns offered, concern for safety at work and abroad, more focus recently placed on implementing healthy actions and lifestyle at work and abroad, recently placed clear career path tracks for each discipline to help assist and guide employees, freedom/encouragement/support to move to and explore other career paths, the need for more training in and improving every aspect of all discipline's jobs has been noted and has either been met or is in the process of being met, co-workers are generally genuinely helpful within the disciplines and with internal customer (other disciplines), many older engineer's display willingness to "mentor" younger engineers on projects, project's typically tend to become close and work well together towards the common project goal, there is a cafeteria on site at most locations, field/travel/international travel available for those interested, department management fosters an open-door policy, more social interactions have recently been established, salaries are very competitive, covered parking lot, security trolls the parking lots during core working hours, many intelligent and hard-workers employees

Cons

Limited opportunities to work from home, sometimes software was dated from our client's software usage causing issues so the company has updated to a newer software, might still be problematic if software is still not a later version that clients use, a hot lunch in the cafeteria will cost generally ~$8.50 or above, very large projects can potentially lead to many placed on company convenience leave if the client pulls the project, work-life balance can be difficult
