Pros
The work at NASA is interesting and it's awesome to work on heritage US space hardware with such a rich history. The culture is for the most part cooperative and a joy for real engineering work, however, working with some of the federal groups can be painfully political.
Cons
The pay is average/below average and inflation has exacerbated this issue. Health care is also a real injustice to the contractor workforce working on such an important program.
