Pros
flexible working pattern, good pay. good office locations
Cons
Awful IT leadership at local and regional level, people in management positions they are not suited to which means a total disconnect between the people doing the work and the management which senior IT leadership in the uk at least don't care about and allow it to continue to rot and get worst which is now leaves a fully disengaged IT team with no direction or career options, managements answer to people who do speak up? leave if you want to not our problem (direct quote from my manager) when i asked why did that guy get a management position "we like the way he talks" useless and chocolate fireguard springs to mind. No career progression, if you work in IT and want a simple job where you wont get to work with big technology's then Jacobs is for you, if you want a career and to progress then do not go to work for Jacobs in IT, find another company, Jacobs will deskill you and fail to utilize your skills due to the problems I have covered. People who can tell higher ups what they want to hear are generally promoted with little or no regard for work done, in Jacobs its about gift of the gab and who you know if you want to get promoted as people are quietly put into new jobs.
