Pros

The half-day Friday schedule was nice, but eventually other things made that benefit not worth the other negative items. Safety conscience. Steady employment through sheer momentum as a large company.

Cons

Constant looming burden of Utilization, regardless of how you performed as an employee. No rewards for going above and beyond the expected 'average' performance. No punishment for employees that don't pull their own weight and constantly perform below the expected 'average' performance. Every project consideration was mainly based on the ability to limit company liability. Smaller clients that we had served for years prior to the acquisition were not considered viable to continue to serve. Smaller project fee's not deemed worthy of even considering. Getting a project contract in place could take 6 weeks, while the client is waiting, due to the vast levels of approval that have to be waded through.

Pros

The Branch that I work for is very conservative, somewhat relax as far as time-off policy. Compensation is above average and personal growth is limited.

Cons

It is a culture of the Old Boys Club which is tightly controlled. Benefits are below average and there is no concept of work-life balance.

Pros

Solid financials, some excellent people, wide range of projects with reasonable benefits

Cons

Weak management, internal self marketing is essential for continued employment. Incompetent, megalomaniac entrenched PM's allowed to run their own "mini kingdom". Good old boy club still very prevalent Without being in the "clique" it was impossible to find follow on projects as preferences made for those "inside"
