If you’re looking for a remote job where you can just do your work and not get too attached, this place might be fine. There are some good people here, and remote work is a nice perk. But beyond that? Let’s just say it’s clear the company isn’t what it once was.
Cons
The culture has completely disappeared. There’s no effort to build it, and diversity and inclusion aren’t even part of the conversation anymore. The CEO doesn’t care about these things, and it shows. Most people are checked out—quiet quitting is more common than actual quitting. Sometimes people disappear quietly, with little explanation, and no one really talks about it. Processes are chaotic, and the organization is super siloed. Communication across teams is rare, and decisions seem to come out of nowhere. Meanwhile, the product feels outdated, and instead of investing in employees, the company’s focus has shifted to outsourcing. It feels like they’d rather hire contractors —people they can control —than invest in real employee growth and engagement. And while the people here aren’t necessarily bad (there are some truly great ones), you can tell most of them are just putting in their time. There’s no shared sense of purpose or energy—it’s more like everyone is keeping their head down and doing the bare minimum to get by. Over time, the company has also shifted toward being whiter and more male, which is clear if you take a look at the leadership page. This shift has created an environment where it feels like unless you’re white and male, it’s harder to do well at Jama. If you’re someone who wants a strong company culture, growth opportunities, and real engagement, this probably isn’t the place for you. But if you just want a remote job where you don’t have to care too much, it might work out fine.
