Understand the needs of employees and try to be flexible

Cons

Lack of an open mind to how things could be. Overall, not keeping up with the times. Hardly address why there are departments with high turnover rates- it is more than just the nature of that particular department’s field of work. Pay is pretty low, overall.

Staff is wonderful and driven, true team environment. Opportunities to learn and grow in your role and cross-train with other departments. Sense of community and service. Good benefits.

Cons

Like most government jobs, the pay could be better. Can be stressful but there is a lot of support around you.
