Pros

As a student employee, the faculty were very accommodating to the needs of students. They worked around your schedule, so you were able to maintain both your job and your grade

Cons

Being a student employee at a university has its limitations regardless of the university itself. the stipend is likely not as high as a salary at an external location. However, as said in the Pros, working is the university setting has its benefits for students.

Pros

I have been working as a student assistant at one of the libraries there. I can't talk enough about how flexible and easy going are my supervisors. Since I am a full-time student, they are very perceptive of my study time needs and I was never asked to work during the exam week. My coworkers very friendly and always ready to help. And I can't get enough of the gorgeous campus surroundings that I get to enjoy every day.

Cons

Student Assistants usually are paid minimal wages, but hey, that pays for groceries!

Pros

Beautiful campus, jobs pay more than fairly for the area

Cons

Can be hard to integrate into for outsiders, there is a definite campus culture that permeates everything, staff tends to stay in positions forever so not a lot of opportunity for advancement
