Pros

The grant was broad enough to allow nice flexibility in what was delivered. The work I did was varied and I was given a lot of freedom to pick the project content.

Cons

This was a research positition in a univeristy that is focused on education first. Though research was encouraged it was not a primary need for faculty. Thus engaging faculty in research was very difficult. They either did their own, small projects or none at all.

Pros

Good pay per hour Great departmental support Set work hours Some benefits are offered by the school Relatively small class sizes

Cons

Grading gets very hectic at times Some students aren't exactly bright Administration (from the higher ups, not on the departmental level) favoritism towards student athletes
