Pros

As professional service mid-sized firms go it's not a bad place to work. You get more out of it if you are in the core competency - a banker. If you directly report to nice people then it is tolerable.

Cons

Not much in the way of professional growth or development or opportunities for promotion unless you are a banker. Low pay for non-banker personnel. As with most firms, senior management hasn't a clue as to what is going in their own firm. If temping, they take a long time to bring you on board...it does depend on department. Some have more clout with senior management than others.

Pros

Little bureaucracy, fast decision making, available opportunities

Cons

Cost orientation undercutting serious thoughts about future opportunities, running too much stuff on skeleton set-up
