Pros

In the past people put in a lot of effort in to help each other, be pleasant and professional, and working hard together! I used to enjoy my job so much!

Cons

Where to start? OK, How about focusing on money first, last, and in between too, since that’s all the owners (Griffin Investments) and Paul Orzeske and Raj Aroura seem to ever care about anyway. Too many mergers in a short time threw too many different cultures together until it quickly became a cutthroat, competitive environment between all “ legacy firms” as they teach us to call the warring factions. But they gave everybody the same lapel pins with a company logo on them, so we must be a team, right? LOL Some REALLY costly purchases have been made, such as a really old, obsolete type of “proprietary software” that nobody can really figure out how to monetize, and a real low-end “forensic division” that simply consists of a bunch of fumbling, back woods ambulance chasers doing insurance investigations work for peanuts. The execs and investors got sold a huge bill of goods on that acquisition, and now there are way too many meetings trying to get other divisions excited and trained in “forensics work”. Nobody with a degree from a halfway decent college wants their name attached to ambulance chasing lawyers! This leaves many of us with good ole common sense, and pride in our engineering careers, scratching our heads, wondering what the execs are thinking? Slick-talking management on conference calls trying way too hard to sell us how great the new improved combined company is while they cut our benefits, and actually want people to work from home so they can shut down the expensive offices they have finally realized they can’t afford after paying so many execs to leave, and constantly funding huge expensive parties for executives, while telling the rest of us to cut back on in person client services for our core clientele.

Pros

Good place to work. Very flexible working arrangements (working from home is acceptable for many). Opportunities for career growth. Pay and benefits are comparable to other companies I have worked for.

Cons

The company has had several acquisitions over the last 3 years. Biggest issue is that some struggle with the cultural change caused by going from a small company environment to a large firm. Change is tough for some but its part of the process.

Not a Long Term Career

Pros

- Excellent PRA training course with fantastic speakers - Lots to learn - Amazing and talented people both seasoned and new hires - Interesting and challenging projects - Flexible work hours so long as work is completed - Great environment to kick-start career after college - Family Friendly - Free Snacks and Drinks! - Great company lunches, parties, and celebrations

Cons

- Limited career options and upward mobility - Long hours and especially long because you're not only ask to do your job but to learn and master PRA which is time intensive. - Brute force, work harder mentality over working "smarter". Non-existent to outdated project management techniques. Frustrating to see that this organization is so top heavy but lacks clear decisive leadership to executing projects on realistic time frames, budgets, and industry recognized project management techniques (i.e., gnatt charts). Try setting folks up for success instead of "how-to" and "you should recognize" lectures...what is the title manager for? - High and sometimes ridiculous expectations from management. In this office, there were three different managers, no cohesive style of management, and varied approaches to similar projects, why? - Lots of technology debt. Brute force mentality is acceptable on tight deadlines, but when even when you go above and beyond to add value to a project process by adding sensible automation or technological advancement, it goes unnoticed and unappreciated. - Small office environment with "work independently" emphasis. If you scream wolf, the whole office knows and you immediately feel branded for simply voicing a concern. - Raises didn't even compensate for the rate of inflation, forget time vested too, it means absolutely nothing! Salary is pretty low to begin with, bonus just seems to be a carrot on a string.
