Jet Aviation in Dubai is not a good working environment

Pros

The pay is higher compared to any other companies here in Dubai. One of the Pros is the food, we always have free food from the crew and that's it.

Cons

People in Jet Aviation Dubai are highly competitive to the point where they are gonna try to destroy everybody to make themselves look better. I'm sure Jet Aviation in other countries is so much better, I'd never recommend to work in Jet Aviation Dubai, not even to my worst enemy. People there try to look so good to management so they can try to destroy and undermine other people. Grapevine is a thing too! And it's not a good thing.

Pros

Nice atmosphere with great colleagues. Easily the best place I've worked at for making lots of contacts. The work is very unique: outfitting VIP aircraft is not something you get to do everywhere. Work safety is taken very, very seriously, never seen anything like it.

Cons

No career opportunities if you don't belong to the clan. This goes for most departments. Nepotism runs wild: Many people hired because they know someone, not because of skills. Wages are way below standard for the area. Overtime will be your new standard, many times not because the workload wouldn't be doable within normal working hours, but because of blatantly obvious inefficiencies in the processes. Shift work is regularly implemented out of the blue. Much of the engineering work is being outsourced to the other side of the world: Quality is often lacking. Emphasis is put much too strong on keeping shareholders happy: It is also the very first sentence on the welcome booklet you get. Overall a rather disappointing experience. Not a place to stay for too long.

Daylight robbery

Pros

Great if you’re an aircraft enthusiast

Cons

Company totally not following Australian work standards. Not paying penalty or overtime, was required some weeks to work up to 90 hours but got only paid 38 hours. Long story short, Working for JA is simply daylight robbery and the government is closing both eyes unfortunately.
