Jimmy Johns= Corporate Greed

Pros

It's a job that anyone can get, as long as they can look presentable.

Cons

Jimmy expects 20% profit from corporate stores. You have to work a minimum of 8 consecutive hours in order to receive a free sandwich with chips and a drink; otherwise you have to pay for anything you want to eat. Delivery drivers are not compensated very well. Also Jimmy has told his managers to NOT hire "Mexicans because they will throw away the unsliced ham then grab it from the trash after work to take home to feed their families"; and that if they have any Mexicans working for them to fire said Mexicans.

Pros

Jimmy Johns was a great place to work. Best reasons include: the friends you will make, time goes by fast working "freaky fast," very flexible. Jimmy John's are usually located near colleges therefore college kids usually work at them. If you need to take some time off, it is understood. There is a lot of sanwiches to remember but once you get them down, it's cake. It's funny listening to people talk about how fast you are. You don't even realize it after you've worked there for a certain amount of time though. Plus, if you work four hours some JJ's, you get free food. Yummy.

Cons

After working there for five years, I was only making $7.25. I had the chance to be a shiftleader and make $8.25 but didn't want to. I did a great job and was praised often but hardly ever got a raise. People that were incapable of being a shiftleader were made shiftleaders just because the place was desperate for them. It's hard to keep people here in the beginning because there is sooo much to remember. You have to take a test when you get hired so you'll be studying those sandwiches! Don't get discouraged though. It's not that bad!
