Its a very dog eat dog environment. They say on one hand how concerned they are about employee burnout and stress but then require we spend EVERY SINGLE MINUTE on the clock to be working on something regarding our job or in advance of our career at JCI. At every other company I've worked for since the early 80s this was not a problem. They all understood, especially when taking phone calls all day, we need a moment or two at times to lower stress.
They also have an employee review system that really is not balance or helps the employee in anyway. Basically with your yearly review, how well you can write it is weighted much greater than the actual job you do. We were even given an example by our supervisor that if you have 2 employees who did the exact same quality & quantity of work, the one who writes their review better gets the better raise each year. This is ridiculous, the number one factor should be the quality & quantity of work NOT the employee's creative writing skills which has nothing to do with our actual jobs.
