Pros

Decent pay. Potential future business growth.

Cons

Pretends to be military friendly but the culture is incompatible with the ethics and training of military personnel. Constantly changing directions and decisions, no central leadership on any topic - hide behind matrix environment for lack of leadership and management skills, elitist, poor benefits that get worse every year of employment, horrible/2 faced and untrained managers - particularly directors and VPs, promote constant fear that you will lose your job, no actual care for goal setting/achievement for employees or help in growing them, unethical: do not honor contract obligations, no accountability for employee actions, must be a "yes man" to be promoted. You must be willing to put up with a lot.

Pros

Legacy employees post Tyco merger still retain some of their earned benefits Good facilities with amenities

Cons

Leadership is clueless. No change management going on in any coherent way. There is no true innovation going on, company is stale and is now forced to go into cost cutting mode to keep making quarterly earnings numbers in the hope that investors will gain interest in the company. More splitting up of assets coming, is this a private equity play taking place behind the scenes?

Pros

Before the merger, JCI was a great environment with room for innovation and creativity to help the business succeed with technology. Initial salaries offered (and hopefully still is) on pace in the IT industry. Benefits are adequate. Strong sales leadership in Global Products and HVAC - NA teams.

Cons

Since the merger, the focus is on keeping the lights on and innovation is shut down due to "budget". Now company that only tracks shareholder value. If the company doesn't value the people producing that value, there is absolutely no reason to work there The company is hemorrhaging IT talent due to the lack of support and flat culture. Systems will continue to become outdated as their is no investment in providing up to date tools. Flat salaries after hire. 3%/year doesn't even keep up with the cost of living.
