if you are looking to start in management it's ok but not for anyone with retail management experience

Pros

working with a good crew of employees, good start for someone who wants to get into management but if you have management experience i'd say look elsewhere

Cons

long hours, 1 day off a week if you are lucky, practically making minimum wage as a manager unless it's a peak period where that commission adds up(other retailers pay a far higher compensation), feeling as if you are only getting paid to sell but when you are doing things like stocking/operations you miss out on sales which means you are losing money

Pros

A lot of nice people, a bit of favoritism but not too much to the point of making a complaint. Pretty good working environment with a little fun every now and then when customers come in.

Cons

Very small working space so it gets crowded and a little noisy at times. Not good for people who can socialize but NOT be in a large crowd of people.

Pros

You can come in with a basic understanding of management and if you are capable of learning quickly, you will take in a wealth of knowledge. Discount on most merchandise through out all of the Genesco stores.

Cons

They will string you along on promotions If a manager is fired/quits/etc you will work open to close every day. Genesco is not going to rush to get another manager to help you.
