Pros

You use an app to keep your availability up-to-date, so you are able to work around your own schedule in a sense. The person who interviewed / hired / trained me was very kind and did try to accommodate my busy schedule.

Cons

Most families book last-minute, so it is very challenging to actually pre-plan your schedule. My first assignment I was booked at 5pm for a job starting at 8am the next day. Another consideration is compensation - the pay was $10/hour, which took me asking three different times to clarify. I was told in my interview that there "would be a conversation" with the lead staff about pay with families - which never happened. In my area the average childcare rate is $14/hr, so this is below market rate and I perceive CNST knows this. Lastly - it has been 1 month since I left and I did not receive my paycheck, nor have they responded my attempts to ask what the issue is / when I will receive it. 3/10 do not recommend.

Pros

You make your own schedule on the app. They don’t hold you to hours. Family can treat you very nice by buying you lunch, paying for an Uber home or tipping. You don’t have to be standing all day long, sometimes you don’t have the parents watching you.

Cons

Families are not held to certain standards. You can babysit in a very messy house, the company doesn’t advocate for you such as letting families know how to appreciate their sitters. Pay is so low- minimum wage- which is pretty bad for taking care of kids. Families are used to seeing different sitters all the time so you won’t be treated that special if you don’t try in your job. Some families are cheap. Even if you do put all your effort and attention to kids they won’t care because they want cheap caregivers. It really is a bad job if you’re looking to Be treated like an actual babysitter. Sitters make $20 but I guess they get you with connecting you with different families. Overall if you like babysitting, truly, you will like this job bc they work w your schedule.

Pros

You can pick your own schedule. That's honestly about it.

Cons

The company treats you like a robot. They are never understanding of cancellations and are constantly blowing up your phone with texts to try and fill jobs. They charge families $20/hr and only give you about half of that. Awful management and treatment of employees. No respect or regard for the only people making them money.
