They expect you to to be a tutor, sitter/nanny, housekeeper, role model & MORE.....all while paying you next to nothing. The wage needs to be commensurate with the work. The average family looking for a sitter pays way more and expects way less. You're better off working for yourself- only helpful if you're between jobs and literally are desperate. I had to beg and threaten to quit to get more money for babysitting multiple children at once....doesn't make any sense. Any reputable child care facility charges per child. Also if the parents get back past the time they've scheduled we are responsible for having them fill out a sheet (most get annoyed when asked to do so). If the parents are late we should not have to jump through hoops to get paid for the extra time we have to stay.

Your experience is highly dependant on your office, mine was very supportive and helpful. Work always available Flexible scheduling Took the work out of babysitting. No need to handle scheduling, payments or any of the buisness stuff.

Cons

The drives can get long with only a 3 hr min. booking Less control over your clients You get paid more working as a nanny for yourself
