Pros

The outside world still thinks (even you used to feel the same when you were not here) that this is a great place to work for....

Cons

1. Bad Management. No respect for the engineers and their contributions. 2. Very less salaries compared to the peer companies in market. 3. The top part of management and their next 25% (in designation, not performance) are heavy, happy, and privileged. But as move down the ladder/org chart, reality hits, and you feel shame. 4. The reviews/appraisals seem a mockery. After every review/appraisal, you find that the higher designated employees are are always considered the top performers, and get the fattest part of the budget.

Pros

Nice name on your resume

Cons

Juniper used to be a good company, but not anymore. There are a lot of politics, and people get promoted if their are from a specific background, or friends of the manager. Your job title or promotion has no relation to your technical skills or contributions. In the early days, Juniper was a good company, but not anymore. It is over taken by many incompetent people and the quality of the products and the people is going down for a long time.

Used to be great place for HR, but no more

Pros

Still some solid people in HR trying to make a difference. "Comfortable" work environment which allows for balanced life. Turned around layoff trend for two years.

Cons

Multiple rounds of layoffs this year. Worst kept secret that more on the way. Most of our HR leaders have left leaving us biz leaders to manage on our own. Not innovating our way to revenue growth so focus on extreme cost-cutting. Short-term focus prevents long-term growth. Impacting culture, values and innovation. Passive and uncertain HR team - third CHRO in three years fostering environment of distrust. Talent no longer matters.
