Bad treatment of teachers

Pros

Some flexibility with work times.

Cons

This company is driven by profits vs providing a solid education to students. They are actively marketing to students who should not be schooled at home. Many students make little progress and have no learning coach supervision. Teachers are poorly paid yet the CEO doubled his salary last year. It is sinful! A teacher earns in the 30,000 range even with many years experience.

Pros

Flexible schedule and flex time Competiive pay Adequate benefits

Cons

This company is successful in spite of its leadership. There is little to no feedback for job performance. You have to self evaluate your own performance because managers rarely provide feedback at all. Like another post indicated, titles are used to increase pay. There are too many Directors, Sr Directors, VPs, etc and the titles do not reflect the abilities of the individual or their accomplishments. Very little, and not effective, communication between departments. Little opportunity for continued learning within the company to encourage employee growth.

No way people are telling the truth

Pros

The pay was alright, but honestly not nearly enough for the level of stress that was felt. The moment I left, what do you know? my stress level dropped immediately, and my life is much better for it. A good thing is that there are many openings...but this is because of all of the cons.

Cons

I did not enjoy lying to families about when their issues would be resolved. I did not like having other departments refuse to help me. I did not like leadership that refused to do their jobs other than fuss about insignificant topics. I hated that these families just wanted the best for their students and what do they get in return? missing and damaged laptops and course materials, broke down websites and apps, the runaround from department to department. It was so hard knowing what these people go through. They just want their student to have a great education! It's no wonder people are leaving in droves and choosing other educational choices. I would not recommend this for those needing work OR anyone needing a school choice.
