Pros
KCI is truly an employee-owned company. The effort and passion you put into your job comes back to you tenfold. They do a great job of investing in individuals at every level, and opportunities are available for anyone who wants them. This company is fair and offers so many resources for personal and professional development. KCI is on the cutting edge of technology and produces excellent work, and wins a lot of important/interesting contracts. They have good relationships with clients and their communities and it is the farthest from a "toxic" work environment that I have ever experienced. Work life balance is honored far more than any other engineering firm and they invest a lot of energy into making the company a workplace that people want to stay at for the long term. Additionally, the ESOP is a fantastic way to get rewarded for your work as well as a huge benefit to full time employees at every level. Training opportunities are fantastic, and the compensation is competitive.
Cons
While no one wants to work at a company with high turnover, I think the fact that KCI works so hard to retain and develop employees that may not be performing to the level their position requires can be a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it's great to know they won't just fire you, they'll work with you to develop necessary skills. But on the other hand, you have to learn to work with employees who underperform at times. (But that's life.) However, it's not that they are blind to it - you will still be treated fairly and rewarded for hard work and good performance.
