Pros

The best co-workers! The job is busy and you got to be on your toes. Can be exciting and eventful almost every day. Looking for something new everyday in your work? Well, this is the place for you. My co-workers are the best part of this job. Bright and hard working people working towards bettering the lives of others.

Cons

Training. Sink or swim. I suggested a better method towards training but was told "Everyone gets trained the same way" there is no training. This small add-on would make a complete difference.

Thank you for your feedback. It's great to hear you have a good team of co-workers. It is our highest priority that KVC Kentucky practitioners feel supported in the important work they do with children and families across the commonwealth every day. At KVC, we provide evidence-based training, supervision, and consultation to our practitioners at all levels of the system as we know that high-quality training not only improves positive outcomes for the children and families we serve, but also increases staff competence, confidence, and provides a buffer for the stress that can accompany social service work. KVC Kentucky utilizes a multi-pronged approach to training our workforce, including shadowing experienced workers, being shadowed, training in evidence-based practices by certified trainers, in-person classroom and virtual training, as well as a state-of-the art learning management system with up-to-date courses on topics that are relevant to providing behavioral health and child welfare services to at-risk populations. KVC Kentucky publishes an annual training calendar with over 250 hours of training for its staff annually with additional training opportunities provided throughout the year. In addition to this robust training curriculum, KVC Kentucky has a leadership development program to ensure that KVC Kentucky supervisors, directors, and leaders are equipped with proven leadership tools and techniques needed to provide strengths-based leadership and coaching to their team members. KVC Kentucky team members receive weekly individual supervision and team consultation, as well as the opportunity to consult with a supervisor, director, or member of the leadership team as needed.

I love the program I work in, my supervisors, my co-workers and colleagues. I have not only grown in my skill set, but I feel like my team is invested in me as I am with them.

Cons

At times it can be hard to get someone to answer in a timely manner.
