Pros

Working at Kaplan has the obvious benefits of interacting with people from varied walks of life in a relatively laid back environment. Teaching is hard work and working at Kaplan is just that. If you are a people person who enjoys problem solving, then Kaplan keeps things fresh with admission of new students and the ability to learn from each others' perspectives. I like that Kaplan has regular hours, so you are not working at all hours of the day. Your schedule is set and you decide how much preparation time you will put into your pre-office/school day. It is what you put into it.

Cons

The staff can be cliquey.

Pros

The people who work at Kaplan are intelligent, hard working and enjoyable working partners. There is a sense of working towards a common goal. Most people tend to put in the level of work that you need to put in to get the job done, which is a lot. There is also the excitement of working for the actual industry and world leader of test preparation.

Cons

The main challenge with Kaplan is feeling that one is overworked while underpaid. The entry level salaries are quite low, and quite discouraging, and raises are given on a percentage basis. Most of the field jobs are entry level, and there is a high level of turnover.
