Pros

Great people to work with. A lot of peer learning going on every project. Lots of career opportunities (industry specific, function specific, geographically). The firm is growing strongly, so it is getting easier to get staffed into projects which are interesting for each consultant. Also, bonuses were good last year. On the soft side, culture is really different. There is a lot of collaboration among consultants, even at a partner level.

Cons

Long hours, sometimes unnecessarily. The negative fact of growing so fast is that utilization is high and there is not much "on the beach" time to "rest" between projects.

Pros

I work for Procurement and Analytics group in the firm, and possibly the best place I could have been post MBA. Mostly small teams, 16-20 week projects, extremely approachable senior leadership, recent push towards work-life balance outlines the positives. Pay wise, it may be in the second tier still in the same segment, but the perks match up with the big guys. No complains about compensation.

Cons

Positive thing about the firm is the easy going culture in the offices, and affable leadership. But lack of stringent structure on the performance appraisals etc may be something that could improve. Overall no complaints.

Pros

Firm aspires to grow, but can't get out of its own way; extremely shortsighted (pennywise, dollar-foolish)

Cons

Sink or swim culture without feedback or clear goals Terrible bonus compensation; ineligible for bonus your first full working year post-MBA, and based on your ranking following those years, may receive no bonus at all Project leadership could care less about employees; selling work = the only goal of the firm
