Pros

Kelly truly cares about the career development of their employees. They recognize the value of retaining and promoting top talent.

Cons

Kelly is fairly well known in the staffing industry for underpaying it's employees. For this reason a high rate of turnover exists.

Pros

Great opportunity to gain experience in the staffing field. Very fulfilling to help people find the perfect job for them. Good benefits. Support of headquaters is right here in Michigan

Cons

Senior management doesn't understand the day to day activities of their staff and have unrealistic expectations. Senior management has created an unmotivating environment by miscommunication and constant change in direction. Inadeqaute staffing levels.

Pros

The pay for a temp position was reasonable, but in reality, that was probably set by the client company, vs Kelly.

Cons

a. the ability of the recruiter to assess the needs of the open position and match it to available candidates was questionable at the start. a friend of mine (not in HR or recruiting) told me about the position and after I made contact with the Kelly rep and pointed out my qualifications she referred me to the client co. who accepted me immediately. Apparently the position had been advertised for months with no luck in finding a person to fill the opening. b. the recruiter was not responsive to my email post assignment, in fact she never acknowledged that i made application and started. I had to ask her for copies of the all the seeming volumes of paperwork required...then she required me to come in person to pick them up, indicating there some privacy policy at stake....which seemed odd since they delivered a paycheck stub and other personal announcements by email constantly. I think she was trying to intimidate me since typically the Kelly temp employee is a low paying entry level worker who cares nothing about documents, signing their life away to anyone who asks. c. i filled out volumes of documents at the application, all profiling me for access to federal subsidies...obviously Kelly's business plan is not built on providing quality work(ers) but on collecting federal subsidies for employing disadvantaged classes. They could not ask me discriminatory questions in the questionaires, but all the info revealed same.....and of course I did not provide them with any access to subsidies available for hiring me. d. i performed excellent service to the client company with the contract being extended 3 times, but Kelly never went to bat for me to get a permanent position offer for me.....in fact, I don't think the position was filled by Kelly again after my departure. e. i have applied for several Kelly advertised positions after the end of this one, where I was well qualified to perform the work, but Kelly has never contacted me to indicate I was being considered. I have never been contacted by a Kelly rep since......
