      Pros

      We are a very close knit group focused on helping each other learn and grow. We focus on advancement and encouragement. I have been with Kemper for 11.5 years, and have moved my career through many avenues here. We work together to get the job done. We have strong leadership that really cares about each individual. I enjoy the great work/ life balance.

      Pros

      Great people in the trenches and in the field. Smart, hard workers and kind colleagues. Loved my manager and the team.

      Cons

      Ran into the CEO once in the elevator shortly after I started. I had never met him, only seen him on video town halls. I said, “hello, how is your day going?” He said, “great!”, not looking at me or returning a “how are you”. His face never left his mobile phone as we rode the elevator in silence 30 floors down. He then exited the elevator first without a word. I thought, “what a selfish prick”. Execs at Kemper are invisible and they all have posh offices on the other side of a badge-access door from where the “workers” sit. They are unapproachable. And from my incident with the CEO, don’t care about the employees.

      Pros

      I have been working here for a couple of months.. As always, the people can make a workplace great or not so great. From my team to upper management, everyone is friendly, happy and helpful. There is an open door policy throughout the ranks of management and it is easy to talk to anyone. My manager is there when I need him but leaves me to do my job, which I really appreciate. If you have a good work ethic and arrive to work ready to take it on, you'll do great here. Health benefits are good and there is a 6% employer match.

      Cons

      There is no gainshare or bonus program.
