Pros

Fun job if you like driving and have an open schedule. Expectations are clear and we had no interpersonal issues with workers or management, which is a rare treat in the workplace.

Cons

You're on-call, so expect busy times and then expect weeks or months of one or two shifts per week. The pay was extremely low. But as I said, the HR guy let me know about the contract status during the interview and I found that to be a real pro move. I'm definitely not complaining. A minor complaint is that it's not completely a dead-end job, but opportunities to move around or up are pretty rare. I didn't have time to survive through the thin work periods while waiting on an opportunity.

Pros

Decent pay for what it was. Occasional raises. Nice location. I met some cool people. I've had worse management at this kind of company.

Cons

Your standard tech contractor company. You work for Kett, and Kett works for the tech company. Kett employees are disposable on a whim. Contractors will be looked down on by Full Time Employees (FTE) from the tech company. Are you great, competent, and did well at your job? Wrong you're an idiot in the eyes of the tech company. Being hired as at FTE at the company will be dangled in front of you, don't you want to be the sick instead of the carrot? Well good luck getting there. All that being said: The hiring process was a joke. Benefits were not good but they existed. The job was pointless and numbing. No direction from leadership. Management was awful and played favorites. You'll never get anywhere if you aren't one of management's chosen few. Little chance of promotion within Kett, and the few promotions were questionable at best. You'll never work for the client company. Inconsistent enforcement of company policies. Harassment often swept under the rug.
