Pros

The training offered by Keyence is unmatched in the industry. The typical in classroom training last from 2-6 months depending on the division. The pay is competitive to 80% of the industry. This is a growth company that didn't need to lay anyone off during the recession. Find me another company of this size that can say the same thing. Keyence has the best products in the industry. Customers like to refer to us as the Apple of the industry. This level of quality gives you instant credibility with your customers. You can be promoted rapidly.

Cons

If you are not going the management path your career can easily stagnate after 4-6 years. If you are in a smaller division it can be harder to move up compared to larger divisions.

Pros

If you’re competitive, love “the grind,” and are cool with being constantly under the scrutiny of metrics (hitting sales call goal, making phone calls, hitting quota) then theres a lot of pros. They wont fire you unless you SUCK or cheat/lie, solid work life balance considering you arent at an office all day, good benefits, good pay, great training and youre super higherable after a year or two here.

Cons

If you get caught in a management structure where no one above you will be leaving/moving up anytime soon, it can be really hard to get promoted. Company is very slow to change and very much follows Japanese values. Considers very little input from employees. There is a strong feeling that the “secret sauce” works and there is no reason to change it, despite the high turnover at this company. Lots of people spend 2 years here then leave, but the people who dont leave find themselves ina really solid groove where they can sort of sleep walk through the job and make solid money. Bad maternity/paternity. Have heard from women at the company that its a mans world here.

Pros

Great training, good pay (initially), a lot of smart and talented people

Cons

Metrics, metrics, metrics. You’ll still have to abide by the same metrics of entry level coworkers even once you’re in management. The culture in upper management and somewhat in general is abysmal. They don’t understand current generations don’t want a job that crushes them just to feel pride. If you want to stay past 3 or so years you have to drink the kool-aid.
