Pros

Keyence is a great starting place to get experience in manufacturing as a recent college grad. Getting to tour all sorts of manufacturing plants and getting a hands on experience with various automation products was incredibly rewarding and fun. It pays great for someone right out of college, and finding a job after leaving Keyence was super easy.

Cons

Lots of travel and long hours on the road depending on your territory. I spent at least one night a week in a hotel and averaged 800 miles of driving a week. It was less technical of a role than I had hoped for, and at the end of the day it is just a sales job.

Pros

Pay and benefits are pretty good, and job security is solid since they can’t hire enough people to keep teams properly staffed.

Cons

Company doesn’t take Covid seriously and wfh is not an option at all. Japanese work culture reigns supreme here, so I hope you don’t mind being asked to come in early, stay late, or work the occasional weekend without being paid for it.
