Good people & work/life balance, but future is questionable.
Pros
R&D has sociable and smart engineers who have been there for decades. The work/life balance is great, with flexible schedules. There are great opportunities to learn a lot. They give lots of responsibility to the designers so there is a sense of ownership. The new leadership has recognized many issues with the company.
Cons
Things are run way too lean. The business is not growing. Hiring of new people is minimal. The support organizations (OF/manufacturing, IT, etc) are lacking technical expertise. There isn't a lot of opportunity to move around or to advance. The workforce is getting near retirement yet the company isn't hiring to replace those leaving. There is virtually no innovation found in the products or internal processes. The salaries and bonus structure are under par. Almost everything about this company feels decades behind the times.
