      Pros

      My specific team has the unique ability to almost perform like a startup in some respects (move quickly, pivot when needed, pick up newest technologies) while working inside of a very large company. We aren't completely isolated from bureaucracy but it feels minimized most of the time. We are encouraged to experiment and be unafraid to question decisions and push boundaries. The benefits, then, of operating inside of a much larger unit is the stability and work/life balance that they provide.

      Cons

      Lack of a coherent direction on selling our product(s) can lead to thrashing on engineering efforts. Priorities one day can be offlined next, and vice versa.
