The job breaks your concentration often when focusing on processing orders and then having to take calls on the 800 line from customers and staff. There is a great deal of email correspondence you are required to respond to. New hire training lasts three months, as there is an overwhelming amount of information to process. You are trained for a lot of special order processing further down the road but oftentimes work instructions can be convoluted and outdated. We have had a lot of folks quit/leave the department recently and corporate has given no sign of replacing them. That is quite scary, because we're getting into the busiest part of the year. I get headaches quite often at this job because of the sheer amount of information to process at times. It's not just a job, it's multiple jobs. Definitely not a career, as I am losing passion about it quickly.

Big company bureaucracy (red: slow to respond, lots of layers of management). Lack of merit advancement, or advancement opportunities in general. Trying to have a startup-like culture with out startup flexibility and rewards.
