Pros

-I absolutely love the babies there, and at most times, it was the only thing keeping me there! -The parents treated me really well, and I had a really good working relationships with all of them! -Teacher appreciation days(these are events put on by the director, or the parents to give teacher’s gifts) -PTO from the start (I believe it was 3hrs a paycheck)

Cons

-LOTS!! -Extreme Favoritism -Ratio Issues- The center is supposed to follow classroom ratio standards, and at many times, the front office doesn’t even know how many children are in the room. -Bathroom Breaks-When an employee calls the front for a restroom break, they are in no hurry at all to give relief. At times, employees have waited several hours for someone to come relieve them to use the restroom. -Scared Employees- A lot of the employees are scared to call in when sick, because management would force them to come in anyways… or say something to make you think that you’re making it up. I tried to go home sick one day because of a migraine, and one of the “higher ups” told me that it was just my anxiety, and I would be fine. Almost on a daily basis, there is an employee in the kitchen having emotional breakdown, or hiding somewhere to cry. -You can’t have ideas… an employee was fired on the spot for giving her advice and standing up for herself on issue in the room. The head person yelled at her losing her temper, and fired her on the spot. -Raises are a joke… I had a meeting to talk about my annual raise, and I was told they messed up on my paperwork, and they were already over paying me, and for that reason, I was not given a raise. -Full-time, but 40 hours aren’t promised.. Management sends teacher‘s home early, so that she doesn’t have to pay them for the full 40 hour week. -They use the round up/down system so you aren’t getting paid for all your hours worked. Management will tell you “sometimes it’s in your favor other times it’s not but it works out in the end”. So if you clock out at 3:22 it will round you down to 3:15 but if you clocked out at 3:23 it was around you up to 3:30. It doesn’t make sense and they will always be sure to get you out at the lowest time. -Management refuses to purchase items for the classroom beyond the basic necessities -Required to go up on a few weekends for training and curriculum type nights… These are not paid hours -Issues Hidden from corporate… Corporate comes in for inspections, and the “higher up” makes us put away all of the items not approved by corporate(in her car to hide it) so that corporate does not see them. -Curriculum for students isn’t age appropriate -The head management are in it for the money. They have no respect for their employees, and at meetings when we bring up issues, they are just ignored and pushed to the side. Meeting are just so they can yell at us for an hour. -Nowhere to move up in the company… the “higher up” hired one of her friends as the head manager, and you were only put into one of the management position if they feel like they can control you. -Age difference in the classrooms isn’t followed. The infant room had a 15 month old child in with the 6 month children. This causes endless issues with older kids hurting the younger ones. -HUGE turnover
