Pros

Your coworkers become your family. Helping children that are in need of care, love and happiness. Seeing children being adopted when possible. Good job to start out of you are only planning to stay for a year or two to get experience.

Cons

No life outside of work, crappy pay, no support, your in a field that one would think would help kids, but we surrender to the counties and do whatever they say. Completely under appreciated. There is absolutely no future career advancement.

Pros

Great Health, Vision, and Dental. Education Department is extremely tight knit, and the supervisor is great. The kids, despite their issues, grow on you.

Cons

Teachers at KidsPeace do not get some of the benefits that are considered a given by most teachers. Education does not get the summer off, and there is no compensation for working the summers. There is also no retirement plan or scheduled pay increases.
