Pros

The children, of course and, some very cool parents.

Cons

Absolutely the worst company that i have ever worked for. It was very clear that the company cared much more about marketing, advertisement and documentation than actually caring for the children. Therefore the teachers were expendable as well and, made to feel so.

Pros

Occasionally enjoyed working for company, management was kind for the most part as well as coworkers. Parents were kind and center was kept clean. Most classrooms are well organized as well as the curriculum teachers have to follow. Great position for those that are starting out in Early Childhood, the company also has great benefits (medical, dental and eye insurance). Do not have to work weekends!

Cons

Beware that you may have to take curriculum and materials home with you to work on, it is against company policy however teachers are rarely given "prep" time to prepare curriculum, hang art projects as well as organize classroom. Ratio is quite large (1:4 infants, 1:7 toddlers/twos, 1:10 preschool/prep 1:15 school age) so environment can get extremely stressful at times. Majority time I worked for the company, we were short staffed and teachers were expected to stay longer as well as work more hours. Sometimes felt under appreciated by management and coworkers. As for benefits Holidays and personal time off are paid however, the company chooses a random week (per year) to determine how many hours each employee gets. Therefore, if you were sick that week and only worked 30 hours, then you would get 30 hours of personal time and 30 hours of vacation for that whole year. Some teachers I worked with were extremely upset about this because this type of situation occurred. Very poor communication between management, coworkers and parents. The center I worked at, parents have left to go elsewhere because of this issue.
