Yes. Old legacy code can be difficult to understand and maintain. We try very hard to "discontinue" older systems, but we also have strong commitments to our customers, and we can't just pull the rug. This is a classic battle many software companies have to handle - the balance between forcing everyone to upgrade - and keeping customers happy with the systems they are used to and comfortable with.
