Pros

- Liked feeling like I was doing public service.

Cons

- Most County Departments are underfunded - Poor leadership and support leads to instability and toxic behavior, lots of punching down - HR is not your friend - there to suppress you not support or help you. Absolute bullies. - Lots of ineffective bureaucracy and waste - Lots of PR and public facing nonsense from leadership creating a sense of cognitive dissonance for us and the public instead of giving clear direct information and data in order to keep the public informed. - Allowing public abuse has become normalized - All of the pr about diversity and inclusion is heartbreakingly like greenwashing - real effective change isn't actually happening. It's just exploitation for points.

Assisting the public and the court to resolve its cases. Great opportunity to get a lot of experience quickly in court process and procedures.

Cons

Stress and coworker turnover can create constant coverage issues.
