Pros

Unlimited PTO, remote/hybrid positions, parking garage, sometimes bonuses.

Cons

Another example of an investment firm destroying what was once a fun, great and inclusive culture. The benefits are subpar now and bonuses are scarcer than ever. There are many responses to other reviews stating that the bonus system hasn’t changed (it has twice this year alone) it was based originally on a break even system with new sales and renewals contributing to a company-wide bonus done in levels that would add to the grand total. The system was changed to “new sales only” contributing to the bonuses done in levels and are not added to the previous. For example if we hit 3 levels before we would hypothetically get $1000 ($250, $250, $500). Now if we hit 3 levels we get $450. Knowbe4 got rid of COLAs in favor of a merit base raise system that “most employees got in January”. The last COLA I received was 4%, not great. The “merit raise” I received in January was 0.02%. Much worse. When was originally hired I was told that the average salary was low and that the bonus system made up for that. It used to be very good and made up for my low salary and felt very rewarding. The salary hasn’t improved and in some cases people are making less yet the bonuses are considerably worse. The cost of living in Tampa Bay has come up considerably and the income for those that aren’t in a director role are too low to be sustainable.

Hello Knowster. While sales targets change each month, and our business goals have changed as time goes on, the structure of the game and the total payout achievable on a monthly basis has remained the same since we started the game. We have never advertised the bonus game system as something that you should count on towards your total take-home pay.

Pros

Unlimited time off, Annual Christmas party at Universal or Islands of Adventure each year and can bring family (rent out park), great co-workers, don't micro manage, still able to WFH, always trying to do their best to make things better, easier for us (for the most part).

Cons

Each time a new commission structure is published, our commission % have gone down SIGNIFICANTLY, while our base pay stays the same. The last time we had a base increase for COLA, it was only 1%...which doesn't even come close to touching the cost of living increases. :( Also, we keep getting more work, responsibilities, accounts added on to our plates, while not making more money...instead, the commission structure is lowered, so that we make at, or less than we did the previous year. I don't think this is right. We work our butts off all year so the company can be extremely profitable, always beating the previous month, quarter, year...however, our pay is not increased inline with this. It didn't used to be this way. I am really quite disappointed, and I truly hope that this last commission decrease was a lapse of judgement and that it is increased back to what it was last year, or better yet, closer to what it was prior to that.

Hello, we’re glad that you gave us four stars and we would like to address your concerns directly, as they are important to us. This review has been shared with Lars (KnowBe4’s Chief Revenue Officer) as well as other senior sales executives at KnowBe4 and they want you to know your concerns have been heard. We do everything we can to make KnowBe4 the ideal workplace for sales professionals. This year we had a 5% cost of living adjustment to match base pay with inflation. Well we have made small changes to some commission plans, the changes do not affect on-track earnings for employees, so everyone can still expect to make the same amount of commissions under the adjusted structure. As a high growth organization with new products available and changing account values, it is essential that we occasionally adjust the compensation structure for certain departments in the revenue sector in order to keep pay from being turbulent. If you feel these changes have negatively affected your commissions, please let your management know so they can communicate it up the chain. If you prefer to remain anonymous, then please use the suggestion boxes located in our offices and virtually as well. Remember, we value radical transparency and genuinely want your feedback.
